Products made from cave crocodile parts are worth 4 times more than those of common animals. They can be trained into valuable pets and either butchered for a great amount of returns or kept as livestock. They can also be used as mounts by goblins during sieges, and they will gleefully swim over any water moat you are using as a defense - whether their riders survive the trek is another story.Ĭave crocodiles can be captured in cages rather easily, as furniture for them to topple can be used as bait. Cave crocodile hatchlings reach their full size in 2 years, but don't reach adulthood (for breeding purposes) until the end of their 3rd year.īecause of their size (10 times larger than a dwarf) and hostile behavior, cave crocodiles should be engaged with well-equipped military squads or traps. The largest creatures inhabiting the first cavern level, they'll spawn individually out of the edges of the water and seek for dwarves to attack and wooden buildings to wreck - they are building destroyers and will topple furniture they come across. It lives in caves and ambushes its prey.Ĭave crocodiles are massive, subterranean, reptilian predators which can be found in the first two layers of the caverns - the bane of fisherdwarves and fledgling fortresses who breach the underground too early. Some dwarves like crundles for their nervous energy.A huge, predatory reptile with pale, colorless scales and red eyes. Unlike most creatures, they can't be spawned in the object testing arena. Overall, crundles are poor choices for training (but provide good experience for your animal trainers since they need frequent retraining) when there are many more interesting creatures in the caverns. Trained crundles can be used in fortress defense designs, but they should only be used as meatshields and/or distractions because they are very poor fighters. As they are born as adults, they can never be domesticated. They can also be bred for meat, although there are better animals around since crundles do not provide leather. They can be caught in cage traps, and weapon traps with basic weapons are generally enough to severely injure or kill them.Ĭrundles can be trained, and are rather prolific egg-layers, making them viable for egg production. They require a long fall to be killed on impact, unless, of course, the ground is flooded with poison, spikes, or best of all, magma. If you rely on traps to defend your fortress, it should be noted that pit traps are fairly ineffective against crundles. Basically, they are like the flightless birds of the caverns. If you are immune to exhaustion, have copper armor and can somehow grab several of them, you can very quickly increase your various combat attributes, more importantly dodging and shield skill, by letting them attack you if you cannot access the surface due to the site isolating itself from it. Thanks to their numbers, wild crundles can be useful for training your military.Ĭrundles seem to have a chance to spawn inside procedural fortresses in adventure mode. They are still annoying, because they will often interrupt your dwarves who perform useful jobs down in the caverns. They can, however, maim or even kill an unarmed dwarf on a lucky hit, but are generally the least dangerous of all underground creatures. They tend to be rather weak and cowardly, even in packs, and are not especially aggressive. All crundles are born adults and possess Legendary skill in climbing. They tend to arrive at a fort in large groups (15 to 20 of them at once) and are very common, probably more common than any other type of underground wildlife, except possibly elk birds. The crundle is a small, imp-like, reptilian creature that roams the caverns in great packs under the earth. It walks on two legs and is dangerous when encountered in large numbers. A tiny underground monster with large claws and horns.

The simple truth is that the swords used by the most successful armies would have the most amazing words written about them, but they were just swords wielded by soldiers with good military leaders.įor example, the cheapest “katana” at the mall gift shop has better steel than any sword made over 100 years ago. The True Believers presume that the archeological finds didn’t find the “real” thing, because everything they found was using normal technology for that age. It is the same with swords people, unfortunately especially enthusiasts, make the mistake of thinking that some ancient sword that was famous in the past has some sort of lost technology, when of course metallurgy was less advanced then. Though it was pretty well hardened as a railroad rail, and probably wasn’t heated much during working. It is hard to say it isn’t “real” considering the metallurgy is likely far superior to the old ones that people love.īut if you made it yourself, nobody can argue it isn’t “real.” Even if it doesn’t have a heat-treated face. But a good steel one only starts at $300. Posted in Tool Hacks Tagged anvil, blacksmith, cutoff wheel, metalwork, rail, smithing, steel, tools Post navigationĪ cheap one is $100 but cast iron, not “real” enough. ’s not the only smith we have on staff, though - has been known to smite a bit too. More on the anatomy and physiology of these tools can be had in ’s article on anvils, and her whole excellent series on blacksmithing is highly recommended. Still, any anvil is better than no anvil. We wonder if some kind of induction heating could be used to solve the latter problem, or if perhaps a hardened plate could be welded into the top to make a composite anvil. We have questions about the final result, like its lack of a hardy hole and the fact that the face isn’t hardened. But with time and skill, the anvil hidden inside the rail can be revealed and put to use. Removing that much metal will not be a walk in the park, so patience - and a steady supply of cutting wheels and sanding discs - is surely required. Other than a file, the bulk of the work is done by angle grinders, which are used to cut off the curved crown of the rail section, cut the shape of the heel, and rough out the horn. Repurposing sections of rail into anvils is hardly a new game, but ’s build shows us just how little is needed in terms of specialized tooling to pull this off. So perhaps the beginner smith’s first build should be this railroad rail to anvil conversion. Sure, one can buy an ASO - anvil-shaped object - at Harbor Freight, but a real anvil is much harder to come by. And that means tackling the unenviable task of finding a decent anvil. One of the biggest challenges facing the aspiring blacksmith is procuring the tools of the trade.
In my '04 CRV that wasn't maintained well prior for tranny it was having shift issues. Some manufactures are making fluid labelled as DW-1 in a synthetic and "recommended" for that but does not list as having Honda approval/authorization. Some prefer the VML, in the new Pilot the DW-1 seems better and people trying different tranny fluids including VML to get original shift quality in a synthetic version but it doesn't shift as original. Next is the overall shift characteristics and different viscosity improvers etc. First is that VML is synthetic and DW-1 is not so the whole life/durability/cleanliness thing. There are many debates on different forums between the DW-1 and VML. Has anyone else had their transmissions flushed?Ĭan I start doing changes to Honda fluid at like 10-15k intervals and eventually get it all mostly switched out? If no other problems develop from the power flush. I am hoping it didn't dredge up too much muck and do permanent damage. The guy said the Valvoline - Max-Life Synthetic Multi-Vehicle Automatic Transmission Fluid was okay for my car and I trusted him. Now I find out that the power flushing is not recommended for Hondas and could be harmful. Now I wanted to start getting some stuff done and was going to wait to get my regular Honda mechanic to do them, but because of the low fluid, I let them do the Transmission Flush. I've had regular oil changes, but never did any of the other maintenance. I bought the 2010 CR-V used like about five years ago with 58,000 miles. He showed my the dipstick and it was low/dirty/discolored. Check these troubleshooting and repair guides for more help on your Honda.Got my oil changed today at a Valvoline Instant Oil Change place and the guy said my AT Fluid was low. We hope you find the Honda CVT Transmission Fluid Change Guide helpful. Guide and pictures are from a 2015 Honda Civic, but owners of other Honda vehicles with CVT transmissions such as Fit, Freed, HR-V, Mobilio, Jazz, and Insight will also find these instructions helpful.

The type of the object parameter is Actor, and the x and y both have to be int (integers). The method requires 3 parameters, the object, x and y The method doesn’t return a result (since it’s void return type) Void addObject(Actor object, int x, int y) You can find it by looking up the class documentation for the World class. The addObject method is a method that belongs to the World class. The addObject method, and the new statement which is used to create a crab. That means that the origin point (0,0) is the top left part of the world. That means 150 cells from the left edge of the world and 100 cells down from the top of the world. This will put a new crab at the location x=150, y=100 in the world. Any code put in to the constructor, like to create an actor, will be executed alongside the world creation code. Because this constructor is executed every time a world is created, it can also create our actors automatically. In this example the constructor builds the world to the size we want (560 cells by 560 cells) and a resolution of 1 pixel per cell. It then does what it wants to do to set up this new instance in to a starting state. The name of the constructor is always the same as the name of the class.Ī constructor is a special type of method that is always automatically executed whenever a new instance of this class is executed. While a constructor looks similar to a method there are some differences:Ī constructor has no return type specified between the keyword “public” and the name This part is the constructor of the class. The next part is where we are very interested: After that is the class header, and a comment. You can see the usual import statement in the very first line. Take a look at the source code for CrabWorld. World instances are different from actors, we have to create actors ourselves, but Greenfoot automatically creates one instance of our world class and displays that instance on screen. The world object, that you see on the screen (that sand-colored square area) is an instance of the CrabWorld class. One thing that does happen every time the scenario is successfully compiled: the world itself is created. Greenfoot should do that automatically, and we will change the source code so it does. The first thing we want to fix is that the crabs, kraken, and worms have to be placed manually in the game. You are welcome to add stuff to it on your own after this though, and you will have a few suggestions on what you might do. There is always more you can do, but we won’t improve it anymore. We are going to finish our improvements to the crab game in this unit. Occasionally, we may sponsor a contest or drawing. Whilst looking decidely relaxed within this painting, as he enjoys some much needed leisure time which was only afforded to the rich and famous at that time, this was a man who would go onto hold some significant roles within European history. The hunter himself stands with gun in hand, looking confident in his surroundings, so perhaps he was a seasoned hunter at the time of this painting in the early 1630s. The sky above is light, but not so much as to saturate the rest of the scene in a way that unbalances the overall artwork. Beside them is a tree which fills most of the vertical space on the right hand side, with a landscape pictured behind them. The Cardinal looks directly at us, typical of Velazquez's portraits, whilst the dog looks off to our left. Both man and pet are tall and lean, perfectly suiting the aspect ratio of this artwork. Individuals of high rank or priviledge would dress very smartly for these outdoor pursuits and it would be a signficant social occasion, sometimes welcoming guests along too. The composition is a traditional hunting style, with man and dog, armed and ready. It can now be found in the collection of the Museo del Prado, Madrid.
